Everything You Need to Know Before Your First Visit
A friendly introduction to what to expect when you visit BNI Intrepid in Leamington Spa.
I'm nervous about public speaking. Do I have to give a speech?
No. One of the biggest concerns we hear from first-time visitors is that they’ll be expected to stand up and give a speech. That’s not the case.
During the meeting you’ll have the opportunity to introduce yourself and your business in around 60 seconds if you’d like to, but there’s absolutely no pressure. Our members understand that everyone starts somewhere, and we’ll make sure you feel relaxed and welcome throughout your visit.
I've never been to a networking meeting before. What should I expect?
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by our Visitor Hosts who’ll introduce you to members and explain how the meeting works. Most visitors quickly realise there’s nothing to worry about – it’s simply a room full of local business owners getting to know one another.
Will I be expected to join BNI Intrepid on the day?
No. Visiting gives you the chance to experience the chapter, meet our members and decide whether it’s the right fit for your business. There’s never any obligation to join.
What should I bring with me?
Bring plenty of business cards if you have them, an open mind and, if you’d like to, a short introduction about your business. That’s all you need.
What if someone already does what I do?
BNI allows one member per business category, but that doesn’t always mean only one type of business. Many professions have different specialisms, so it’s often possible for similar businesses to join if their primary focus is different. Before your visit, we’ll simply have a chat about what you do to see whether there’s a suitable category available.
Is breakfast included?
Yes! Breakfast is included during your visit and gives you plenty of opportunity to chat informally with members after the meeting.
